Many women spend their days responding to responsibilities; work, family, leadership, caregiving, and the constant stream of decisions and expectations. In the midst of this, it’s easy to lose connection with our own inner voice.

Writing to Renew the Heart is a two-part circle designed to give you space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with yourself through writing.  Research shows that reflective writing can help reduce stress, clarify emotions, and support resilience. In this circle, we’ll use simple, guided journaling practices to help you pause, listen inwardly, and give language to what is unfolding in your life.

You don’t need to be a writer. This is not about perfect sentences or polished stories. It’s about creating a private space on the page where you can explore what you’re carrying, what matters most right now, and what may be ready to shift.

During the two sessions, we will:

  • Explore writing as a simple practice you can return to during times of stress or transition.
  • Notice the stories and self-talk that shape how you move through your life and work
  • Identify what you may be ready to release, reframe, or renew

The circle will be facilitated by a seasoned writer who will guide you through reflective prompts and quiet writing time, with optional opportunities to share insights if you wish. Sharing is always voluntary; listening and witnessing are equally valued. This is a supportive, judgment-free space where professional women can step away from the pace of daily life and reconnect with their own clarity, wisdom, and resilience.

Whether you already keep a journal or are simply curious about writing as a reflective practice, you are welcome here.

  • We are honored to welcome Vibha Akkaraju as our guest facilitator for this intimate writing circle.  Vibha is a gifted writer, social entrepreneur, and facilitator.  Based in the San Franciso area, she has led writing retreats and supported others in using writing as a pathway to clarity, self-discovery, and authentic expression.

Vibha’s writing has been published in The Fourth Genre, The Journal of Expressive Writing, and India Currents, among other places. She is working to revise her memoir, Like Ketchup on Roti, a deeply personal exploration of identity, memory, and belonging.

Vibha brings a thoughtful, grounded presence to the spaces she facilitates, creating a warm and welcoming environment where women can explore their inner worlds and give voice to their lived experiences through writing.

Please Note: This circle is limited to six women.
